True or False (10 points)
Tell me if the following statements are true or false. If a statement is false, then correct it by telling me what's true.

1. An ecosystem has to be large.
2. Mistletoe is a parasitic plant.
3. Some plants rely on the wind to disperse their seeds.
4. Plants are usually the decomposers in the equation.
5. The weather is an example of a biotic factor.

Sort It Out (10 points)
Decide whether these factors are biotic or abiotic.

1. Climate
2. Plant
3. Animal
4. Water
5. Microorganism

Let's Go Eco (20 points)

Research an Example of an Ecosystem that You Find particularly interesting. Make a collage of organisms that can be found there (at least 8 different species for full credit), create a diagram of it (with labels pointing to interesting features) or write about it in your own words (200 words or more).

Excellent Examples (10 points)

This lesson, we briefly talked about parasitic plants. Tell me about an example of a parasitic plant that we didn't cover (so one that isn't mistletoe). You can either look up an actual example or create your own magical one (feel free to make it as outlandish as you like). It must be written in your own words and at least 100 words long.

Herbologist Hijinx (20 points)
How are you feeling about being back in the greenhouses? Are you looking forward to heading outside to find plants in the wild? Did you find this lesson interesting or were you secretly snoozing behind the snargaluff? Describe your experience in at least 200 words.

Connections and Conversations (10 points)
We talked about how organisms depend on each other and are closely connected. How do you think they feel about that? Come up with a conversation that might happen between two organisms of different species while they're going about their daily lives. It could be the bee and the fanged geranium, it could be the venomous tentacular and something it would like to snack on or it could be something totally different. You'll need at least 8 lines of dialogue for full credit.

While some of the plants featured are used in herbal medicine or cookery, it does not necessarily mean they're safe to eat. It can also be easy to mistake one plant for another. Always check with an expert first!
