About the Class

General Information

Joining Requirements

To take this class, you need to have taken a herbology class on HOL in a previous term. While you don't need to have passed it, you do need to have turned in at least two assignments for it (and received points). This could be the version taught by me (Prof. Sky Alton) or the previous version taught by Polaris Black (and before her, Prof. Zoki Phantom).

Don't worry if you haven't done that yet, just head on over to my original Herbology class and I'll see you back here in a term!

Class Structure

There are 4 lessons, each with a matching assignment. The first is an introduction and the other 3 are expeditions to interesting landscapes near the castle.

1. Intro in the Greenhouses

2. The Forbidden Forest (remember to stick to the path!)

3. The Lake (don't forget your towel!)

4. The Moors (You'll be needing a sturdy pair of boots!)

As well as the four assignments, there's a term project. To get the most out of some of the project tasks, you'll want to start it in good time (and not leave it until the very end of term).

Points and Quills

For each assignment and the project, you'll have the chance to earn up to 60 points. So, there are 300 available in total.

To pass the class and earn a quill, you need to earn 150 points across any of these options.

Deadline

Everything is due at 11:59 PM HOL-time on 15th January for the Autumn Term and 11:59 PM HOL-time on 15th June for the Spring Term.

Accessibility and Other Questions

If you have any accessibility requirements that make it difficult to complete part of an assignment, just let me know and we can find an alternative that suits you.
